This 38,000 square-foot courthouse utilizes concrete columns, walls and slabs to complement the architectural design while accommodating the acoustic and security requirements. The large atrium with a sun-shade structure invites a generous amount of natural light and transparency to the public circulation spaces, while minimizing exposure to direct sunlight. Expansion of the three-storey building also includes three new courtrooms and two hearing rooms as well as new holding cells.

The renovation and expansion of the courthouse follows the city’s dedication to boosting the local economy while bringing protection to the community and ensuring accessibility and safety for visitors for many years to come.
