Our People

Our goal is to support creative architecture with practical, holistic engineering. Our head office in Vancouver is growing, as are our North American branch offices in Toronto, New York, and Seattle. We think the best way to sustain our growth is to put our people first. We work hard to build an honest and encouraging environment for all our staff, providing mentorship opportunities and training to help them develop professionally. In all we do, we want to set high standards and help our team meet them.

We offer diverse career paths at Fast + Epp in structural engineering, drafting, marketing, accounting, and administration. See below for current opportunities.

Innovation can happen in many ways – in measured, incremental steps or sudden leaps. We think our best work happens when we find ways to be creative, no matter the scale. It might be a counter-intuitive structural approach to a building, a new way to help our clients visualize our designs, or a better system for tracking our performance. We want to be a place where creativity can flourish – which doesn’t mean hiring a bunch of superstars. It means fostering the kind of diverse, collaborative environment that can turn good ideas into great ones.

Workplace Culture

At Fast + Epp, we strive to be more than a stereotypical engineering company.  We are also a collection of musicians, volunteers, amateur athletes, artists, parents and community members. We build our workplace culture through frequent socials, in-house soccer and softball teams, relay triathlon teams, weekly group hiking nights, and informal pub nights, to name a few.  Our work days are flexible and fit with our lives outside of the office. As we continue to grow, we are committed to preserving our “design studio” atmosphere by encouraging our staff to be creative and forward thinking in all that they do.

Professional Development

We want everyone at Fast + Epp to grow as professionals – whether you’re an engineer, drafter, or part of our administrative team. We are continually looking for ways to mentor you inside our company and to support continued learning outside the office, including courses, conferences, exam preparation, and membership in professional organizations. We realize one size does not fit all. At Fast + Epp, you’re encouraged to envision a professional development plan that fits your role and career goals – we will do our best to support you in reaching the next milestone.

Fast + Epp is also an Accredited  Employer with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia. We offer a work environment that ensures Engineers-in-Training (EITs) are able to satisfy the association’s experience requirements when applying for their professional engineer (P.Eng.) designation.

Under this program, EITs receive enhanced guidance in gaining necessary competencies for registration; experience expedited review and registration after four years of work experience, provided they have already passed the Professional Practice Exam (PPE) and have completed the Law and Ethic requirements set by Engineers and Geoscientists BC; and become a strong candidate to qualify as a P.Eng.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people who approach problems with a sense of curiosity and are not afraid to ask, “Is there a better way to do this?” We want people who will bring diverse experiences and viewpoints to our team, those who love to collaborate with others and understand they have something to learn from everyone they meet. We’re searching for individuals who are honest, reliable, and good listeners. If you work with us, we want you to stretch your limits while still ensuring you maintain healthy habits, relationships, and other interests.
