Here at Fast + Epp, we are passionate about collaborating on community-driven projects and so we were thrilled to work with hcma on a unique neighbourhood plaza at the intersection of Granville and 14th Avenue West in Vancouver, BC. Inspired by the concept of forest bathing or shinrin-yoku, we designed a self-stabilizing seating structure that immerses visitors in a tranquil and rejuvenating experience. Crafted entirely from aromatic cedar lumbar, this charming spot not only serves as a delightful lunch or coffee destination, but also envelops you in the refreshing scent of nature itself.

From April to May 2023, this site was used to display a one-of-a-kind placemaking installation called Bloom. Collaborating with local florist Botany and Bloom, the South Granville Business Improvement Association (SGBIA) brought Bloom to life with an enchanting and whimsical floral display. Adorned with a vibrant springtime palette featuring a delightful mix of daisies, cherry blossoms, Billy Balls, anemones, peonies, and more, this was a seamless fusion of art, nature, and innovative design.
