Talasa at Sun Rivers

Talasa at Sun Rivers is a multi-phased development consisting of three separate residential buildings  and The Village Centre, which will give locals and visitors new opportunities to dine, shop and attend events.

Fast + Epp provided engineering services for two of the four-storey wood frame residential buildings. The timber structures are constructed atop 1.5 levels of cast-in-place concrete underground parking, with raft slab foundations.

This solution was preferred because of the site’s poor ground conditions – geotechnical reports indicated that the structure needed to withstand the possible loss of a 20-foot diameter of soil bearing at any given point below the parkade level.

With 455 multi-family homes, a sales centre and commercial spaces, the residences are the catalyst for a vibrant new community in Kamloops.
