This two-storey recreation centre will offer a wide range of leisure services including waterslides, a wave pool, and a lazy river. Dive towers and two 50-metre pools are designed to serve as a training space for local athletes and to provide the city with the ability to host competitive events. Non-aquatic amenities will be present to accommodate for all visitors, including community spaces, food services, and an outdoor play structure and spray pad.

As part of the City’s commitment to becoming a renewable, net-zero community by 2050, a deep-geothermal energy heating system will be used — a Canadian first — eliminating the need for natural gas boilers.

The competition pools are lined stainless steel tanks to provide a premium competition facility, while the leisure pools are of concrete construction to facilitate the construction of curved tanks.  The natatorium superstructure is a hybrid steel and mass timber structure to achieve sustainability targets and improve overall simplicity.  The social heart superstructure is mass timber to further create a warm and inviting community space.

Construction for the Indoor Aquatics Facility began in fall 2025 and is anticipated to open in 2029.
