Kamloops Centre for the Arts is a bold new vision for the heart of downtown Kamloops. With its dramatic, curvilinear, and transparent design, the centre will stand as an iconic expression of creativity and inclusivity, and serve as a vibrant cultural hub designed to inspire, support a growing population, and drive economic development.

Now in the validation design phase, Fast + Epp is proud to partner with WSP on the structural work as part of a seasoned team collaborating closely with the City of Kamloops to deliver this project through an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) model. Construction is targeted to begin in fall 2025, with completion anticipated in 2029.

Spanning more than 150,000 square feet, the new centre will be a welcoming space for community events and artistic expression. The project includes a mainstage theatre (1,100 seats), a secondary theatre (450 seats), flexible studio, rehearsal, and education spaces, and underground parking. The project supports the local arts community, its design considering the needs of key user groups including Western Canada Theatre, Kamloops Symphony Orchestra and Kamloops Art Gallery.

The building is envisioned to include an expressive wood structure in the main lobby, fronting onto main steel theatre and back-of-house structures, with carefully detailed acoustic connections. The project is being delivered through the collaborative IPD model, with client, architect, designers and contractors co-locating in Kamloops on a regular basis throughout the duration of design and construction.
