Paul Fast wins 2022 Education Prize

We are excited to announce that Paul is one of the five selected winners of The Softwood Lumber Board and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ASCA) 2022 Timber Education Prize. Paul is a Clinical Professor and Gertrude Lempp Kerbis Fellow at the School of Architecture, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and teaches Architecture 595: Mass Timber Building Systems.

As founder of Fast + Epp, Paul has amassed over 35 years of structural engineering experience as the design lead for many of the firm’s most significant award-winning projects and is recognized for his unconventional use of materials, such as hybrid mass timber. Some notable projects involving innovative timber solutions include the 18 storey TallWood House at University of British Columbia, 2010 Richmond Olympic Oval, Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre and Fast + Epp’s very own hybrid mass timber home office building.
