Nick Bevilacqua to present at the WoodWORKS! BC Costing Workshop
February 18, 2020
Join Principal Nick Bevilacqua alongside Ray Wolfe from Thinkspace Architecture Planning and Interior Design at the upcoming WoodWORKS! BC workshop: Wood Construction Costing Beyond 2020 – Drilling Down Through Details, as they speak about a mass timber school costing study.
Following BC’s recent early adoption of the 2020 national building code, there is anticipation that planning and construction for taller mass timber buildings will surge soon. As wood construction advances due to the new code, objectives, innovative systems, and construction capabilities, it is essential to stay alert on how planning, timing, and costing are changing. Developers, designers, specifiers, and quantity surveyors recognize that expanding their knowledge about costing has become imperative in order to properly quantify project cost projections to make informed project decisions.
This workshop is tailored to help and inform designers, estimators, contractors, and developers to understand the differences in pricing wood projects relative to other materials. Alongside Nick and Ray, experienced professionals from Path Architecture, Swinerton Mass Timber, StructureCraft, and more, will share their extensive knowledge and experience from concept through detailed estimating to final assembly.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, March 4th from 7:30am to 4:00pm at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver, BC.
