First phase of National Arts Centre renovations complete

June 6, 2017

The National Arts Centre is a landmark building for the performing arts located in the Parliament Hill precinct in Ottawa, Ontario. It has recently undergone extensive renovations with the initial phase of work being completed for the July 1st celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday where Paul Fast, Donald Schmitt and the rest of the architectural team were in attendance. Also present were Prince Charles and other dignitaries who participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Improvements to the building include a new atrium and foyer addition featuring an architecturally striking coffered ceiling prefabricated as a novel hybrid timber-steel structure. Additional upgrades to the complex will be completed later this year and in 2018.
