Gerald Epp receives Engineer Award

March 6, 2014

Gerald Epp was the recipient of the Engineer Award for Bow River Bridge on Monday March 3, 2014 at the Wood Design Awards in Vancouver, BC. The striking bridge was designed to blend into the natural beauty of Canada’s first national park. A minimal, unimposing design was used and careful attention to detailing, mitigation of dynamic behavior, and a high degree of pre-fabrication were some of the keys to the success of the bridge. The final design features an 80m clear span, which for a timber bridge is one of the longest of its kind.
