25 Years: Celebration, commemoration & launch
September 22, 2010
Fast + Epp celebrated more than two decades of collaboration with our friends and colleagues at our 25th Anniversary Gala on September 16.
The evening included an elegant dinner with live strings music followed by guest recognition vignettes by the Partners and Associates of Fast + Epp.
An industry panel interview was led by Duane Palibroda with special appearances by Architectural Critic Trevor Boddy, Roger Woodhead of SNC-Lavalin, and Larry McFarland of McFarland Marceau Architects.
Speeches by Peter Busby of Busby Perkins + Will and Michael Heeney of Bing Thom Architects, and a special announcement concluded the evening.
We would like to thank all who were able to attend for allowing us the opportunity to express our appreciation in person for their collaboration over the past 25 years.
Special thanks to our guests Trevor Boddy, Peter Busby, Michael Heeney, Larry McFarland, and Roger Woodhead who graciously contributed to the evening’s program.
The Gala took place at the John M.S. Lecky UBC Boathouse, a project designed by Larry McFarland Architects with structural design by Fast + Epp.
The Gala marked the release of the Fast + Epp book, A Symphony of Structure: The Work of Fast + Epp, edited by Jim Taggart of SAB Magazine. The book is available through SAB Magazine’s website.
The launch of Fast + Epp Germany was also officially announced at the Gala. This fall marks the opening of a branch office located in Frankfurt under the guidance of Jochen Stahl.
Jochen was previously employed for four years at our Vancouver head office before returning to his native Germany to complete a doctoral thesis and to prepare for our international launch.
