There are two development hubs inside Concept Lab to help you explore the possibilities within Fast + Epp – The Material Hub and the Digital Hub. These spaces are intended to foster collaboration and get ideas flowing.
The Material Hub features a library of structural materials and samples to help generate ideas and provide product tactility to designers. It’s a conference-style space located right in the heart of the lab, outfitted with a high-definition projector, drop-down screen, audio system, modular chairs and tables, and of course a collection of materials that you can interact directly with. This is a unique area of the lab where it’s possible to not only explore ideas, but also host events, lead workshops, conduct lectures, and launch products.
The Digital Hub is a generous space outfitted with a high-definition interactive display, audio system, and whiteboard for developing ideas. The room features an exposed mass timber structure and is next to our Concept Lab digital team. This is a unique area of the lab where it’s possible to explore your ideas, lead workshops, and have project-specific meetings that focus on innovation.
Concept Lab is the ideal space for product development in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industries. Our core purpose at Fast + Epp is to advance structural design and propel architectural imagination. As a part of this mandate, we are committed to an open-source posture for the majority of R&D we undertake at Concept Lab. However, as a recognized and trusted partner in the industry, we understand the value of retaining ownership of intellectual property in certain cases, such as for software and/or product development. We are currently dealing with such projects on a case-by-case basis and are happy to discuss this with you in further detail.
