This project combines a single-storey existing building to be renovated and a two-storey new building that connects to the existing building via a multi-purpose room.
On the ground floor, the new building provides group rooms, bedrooms and washroom facilities. Meeting rooms are being built on the upper floor. Storage and technical rooms are planned in the north and south areas.
The highlight for children: the roof of the multi-purpose room can be used as a terrace or playground. While the existing building was built in reinforced concrete skeleton construction, Fast + Epp designed a roof using mass timber.
The connecting multi-purpose room consists of a ribbed reinforced concrete ceiling on columns.
