The new facility is designed with a mass timber framework, showcasing exposed structural timber elements throughout the interior.

The building features a straightforward glulam post and beam system, complemented by steel moment frames, GLT roof panels, and CLT walls. A steel and timber canopy wraps around all four sides of the structure, offering protection for materials and serving as the foundation for a series of timber slat walls. These slat walls are both structural and functional, acting as screens to obscure the view of manufacturing materials from a nearby highway and airport.

Additionally, the canopy extends over three ‘outbuildings’ that house the reception area, design offices, staff rooms, a biomass heating facility, electrical room, and other auxiliary spaces.
