Sarah FitzMaurice
Sarah FitzMaurice is a Principal and leads Fast + Epp’s New York office, bringing a strong commitment to community-centered design. She thrives on close collaboration with clients and fabricators to deliver innovative, responsive solutions that serve the communities they are built for.
Prior to joining Fast + Epp in 2019, Sarah gained ten years of experience with Silman, contributing to projects such as Harvard’s Fogg Museum in Cambridge, MA, and Cornell University’s Veterinary College in Ithaca, NY. Her project experience spans both new construction and renovations across higher education, residential, and museum sectors. Notably, her passion for community-focused design was demonstrated in the Lucky Rice Paddy Installation at the World Trade Center, where she collaborated closely with the client and fabricator to create a large-scale installation for a public food-gathering event.
At Fast + Epp, Sarah’s work spans multiple sectors, and includes key projects such as the Walmart Home Office, 111 Ann Street, and the Surrey–Langley SkyTrain Line. She brings a strong understanding of project constraints related to scope, budget, and schedule, contributing to successful outcomes across a wide range of project types.
Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Manhattan College, where she also spent over a decade teaching as an adjunct professor in the graduate department. She continues to teach for other university programs and at Yestermorrow, a design-build school in Vermont.
Sarah’s leadership style emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and quality. From conception through construction, she ensures her team is supported in all aspects of project delivery, consistently producing high-quality results that meet client goals and enrich the communities they serve.
