Walmart announces new home office

May 17, 2019

F+E is pleased to have been involved with the concept design of the new Walmart Home Office in Bentonville, Arkansas.

The design of the new campus-style headquarters aims to enable new ways of working, and features plenty of natural light, natural beauty, and amenities to promote health and community.

“The small team that’s been working on this design has kept our values, our culture, including everyday low cost, and sustainability in mind,” says Doug McMillion, Walmart President and CEO.

Walmart’s corporate sustainability goals are to create zero waste, operate with 100% renewable energy and focus on products that sustain resources and the environment. The design includes the use of regionally sourced materials, including mass timber construction.

“It’s been very exciting to work on this project with Walmart to date, and to be part of designing this corporate home office that will drive efficiency and productivity through connected buildings and their teams,” says Paul Fast of  Fast + Epp.

The new home office will include cafes, dining options, more parking, fitness facilities, creative work areas, child care, green space and trails.

“It’s time to move from these old spread out buildings to a new place we can call home,” adds McMillon.
