Jochen Stahl

Directing Fast + Epp’s design work in Europe since 2010, Jochen Stahl’s keen interest in the building process stems from a family background in construction work.

Jochen fully embraces Fast + Epp’s design philosophy, having worked at our Vancouver head office from 2002 to 2006. Upon return to Germany, he pursued a doctoral degree in engineering, while at the same time teaching structural design at Darmstadt’s Technical University Faculty of Architecture.

Jochen’s leadership of the Darmstadt office has strengthened our firm’s international presence and technical expertise. Projects such as Krefeld’s Hochschule Niederrhein and the striking Anaklia-Ganmukhuri Pedestrian Bridge in Georgia have becoming signatures of Fast + Epp GmbH.

A member of the Berlin-based Synthetic Structural Materials Committee, Jochen is involved with developing guidelines for the use of synthetic materials in the German construction sector.

He also serves as a guest university lecturer, instructing Germany’s next generation of architects in timber design.
